BIO

I am a Counselling Psychologist registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), with clinical experience within public healthcare settings and experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across diverse cultural, academic, and professional contexts. I value creating a therapeutic space that is reflective, collaborative, and emotionally containing, where clients feel supported in exploring their experiences with greater clarity, insight, and self-understanding.

Before pursuing psychology, I worked in the Finance and Audit sector. This experience shaped my understanding of the emotional demands associated with high-pressure environments, including stress and burnout, identity contamination, performance pressure and spillover from work conflict. I work particularly well with professionals, students, and individuals navigating complex life transitions and emotional strain.

My clinical interests include psychological adjustment to chronic pain and autoimmune conditions, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, emotional regulation, interpersonal difficulties, and adjustment-related challenges. I am especially interested in supporting individuals living with invisible illnesses and persistent health-related difficulties, including children and adolescents adjusting to chronic medical conditions.

I also have an interest in grief work with children and adolescents and offer age-appropriate therapeutic support, including play-based interventions for younger children. My approach is compassionate, developmentally informed, and tailored to the emotional needs of each child, adolescent, and family system.

My therapeutic framework is integrative and evidence-based, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic therapy, Mindfullness-based approaches, trauma-informed interventions, play-based techniques, and Supportive psychotherapy.

In addition to psychotherapy, I offer psychological assessment services within my professional scope of practice. This includes clinically informed assessment and formulation to support emotional understanding, diagnostic clarification, and treatment planning. I also provide pre-surgical psychological evaluations, with attention to psychological readiness, coping resources, and factors that may influence adjustment and recovery.
