My journey in Psychology started in 2008 at the University of South Africa (UNISA) where I completed my bachelor’s degree in Psychological Counselling (Cum laude) and Honours in Psychology (Cum laude) following which Iregistered as a Counsellor with the Council for Counsellors in South Africa in 2014 to get started with hands on experience. In 2017, I joined the University of Witwatersrand and completed my Masters in Community Based Counselling Psychology in 2019. I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Counselling Psychologist. I am passionate about promoting Mental Health wellness in individuals, within communities and from a holisticperspective. I have a keen interest in understanding and helping people in their personal healing and growth journeys. My areas of interest are Trauma, Abuse, GBV Grief & Loss, Relationships/Friendships, Career Transition Guidance, Depression, Stress and Anxiety. My experience includes private practice clients, facilitating mental health workshops, developing Psycho-Social programmes, employee wellness and curating mental health workshops for organisations.
I work within a Psychodynamic framework; however, I do incorporate an integrated approach based on the client incorporating short term therapy modalities such as CBT, Solution Focused therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. The best gift you can give yourself is to own your voice and understand yourself. Therapy is the key to self-insight and healthier interpersonal relationships.
